FIFI Cocktail Party 21 October 2010

 

Wilson HTM generously sponsored FIFI’s cocktail party to support ABI NSW.

City2Surf 9th August 2009

 

A huge "thank you" to all those who sponsored FIFI's inaugural attempts at the City2Surf, to raise money for ABI NSW.

Our initial target was $20,000, which would have funded the training of a single therapist to work with 20 Sydney families with autistic children. We broke through the initial target well before 30 June (thanks to tax deductible donations), so lifted it to $30,000, which we also powered through just before race day. Race day dawned with perfect Sydney winter weather, and after a pit stop at Pitt Street (citi building, last clean bathrooms for 14kms), all thirteen (2 in strollers) members of Team FIFI headed off for the run. Every FIFI team member successfully completed the course, and all were smiling at the finish line, and smiling even wider at the pub later with a few celebratory drinks!

Notable mentions in Team FIFI:

1. "Fastest FIFI" - Moira Daw - 86:25m, even with limited training, Moira did a great time and was the first FIFI over the line.
2. "True Grit" Award - must go to Jacqui Fernley, FIFI's top fund raiser, who tore a ligament the week before the race, but still managed to complete the whole 14kms.
3. "Baby FIFI"s - Sam and Leilani - who both rode their chariots to race victory, pushed by their Mum's Stephanie (Fischer) and Kate (Howitt).

Thank you once again, and FIFI plans to return next year for 2010 City2Surf with bigger team and bigger target!
